How to Get Old Bookmarks from Yahoo!
For any previous Delicious users unable to access their account, Yahoo! has agreed to keep data from the old Delicious until October 21, 2011 and there is a way to export bookmarks until then (UPDATE: deadline has been extended to November 1). Read this blog post for more details on the fix, which was discovered by the Delicious community. While this is an unofficial solution, we’ve confirmed that it works and want to make people aware of it. Just make sure to act on it soon!
FAQ:
1. Why weren’t my bookmarks migrated automatically? – As outlined before, we were legally required to obtain permission from Yahoo! users before migrating their bookmarks. Despite our best efforts to inform everyone, some people did not learn about it in time.
2. Was data deleted during the migration? – No. If you agreed to migrate your bookmarks before September 23, AVOS has all of your data. If you didn’t agree to migrate them, Yahoo! will have your data until October 21st (UPDATE: now November 1).
3. Why can’t you just look up my email address? - Because Delicious did not historically validate unique email addresses, we cannot use email addresses to identify previous Delicious accounts. We recently added email validation (currently required for sharing) to prevent this issue in the future.
