Web Developer
You will be a key member of the team building and refining features for delicious.com, the leading social bookmarking service for saving, sharing, and discovering web links.
Overview:
- Title: Web Developer
- Location: San Mateo, CA
- Reports To: VP of Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop highly intuitive interface components that provide a high degree of utility without sacrificing simplicity
- Develop innovative features and solutions that enhance and extend our core product
- Establish yourself as our technology leader for browser based user interfaces
- Launch early and often, iterating to take a great product to an even better place!
Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in software development, with in-depth focus on developing web applications
- Expertise with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JSON, and Javascript
- Up-to-date experience with latest technologies including HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python (preferred), Ruby, Perl, etc.
- Experience working in a Linux-based production environment
- Strong web design acumen and focus on user experience
- BS or MS in computer science or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills for both external and internal interactions
- Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and works well independently and as part of a team

- Provide direction to developers to optimize productivity and code quality
- Develop innovative features and solutions that enhance and extend our core product
- Establish yourself as our technology leader for software engineering
- Launch early and often, iterating to take a great product to an even better place!
Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in software development, with in-depth focus on developing web applications
- Expertise with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JSON, and Javascript/JQuery
- Expertise with Python programming
- Experience with Java, and C/C++ programming
- Expertise with relational databases
- Experience with scaling web applications, including defining caching architectures, query optimization, and horizontal scaling of applications.

- Experience working in a Linux-based production environment

We’re always looking to bring aboard college students or recent graduates passionate about social media, web engineering, business & marketing, and the best web content. AVOS internships are structured as real learning opportunities with experiences offered across multiple company activities.
Overview
- Title: Internaut
- Location: San Mateo, CA
- Reports To: Community Manager
- Hours: 10-20 Hrs/Week
- Duration: Fall Semester, Spring Semester, Summer
Responsibilities
- Discover and curate great web content
- Test product and provide feedback to engineering team
- Compile and analyze site usage statistics
- Engage community to solicit feedback
- Help design, build, & test new features (engineering students)
- Assistant in various community management activities
Qualifications
- Passionate about web content with deep knowledge in one or more content verticals (music, film, sports, news, politics, food, technology, health, super heroes & comics, geek culture, etc.)
- Active user of and interest in social media (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- High energy, very responsible person able to work independently
- College educated or attending top college
- Also looking for talented web engineering students seeking valuable start-up experience
